Our breakthrough Hyper-Beam Array (HBA) lithography system is at the core of our revolution. This maskless patterning system enables precise fabrication of wafers from 100mm to 300mm, eliminating the need for costly photomasks and reducing lead times. Unlike traditional methods, HBA lithography supports flexible-volume production, making it ideal for small-batch prototypes, legacy chips and advanced designs at significantly lower costs. Our History
SecureFoundry founded by Lex Keen, Technical Director at U.S. Cyber Command.
Keen’s mission was to secure America’s technological sovereignty by transforming academic innovations into deployable defense solutions, ensuring a robust, independent U.S. defense infrastructure.
SecureFoundry’s initial focus was on commercializing university-developed IP for the DOD, licensing cutting-edge technologies to address defense capability gaps.
SecureFoundry started to pursue domestic manufacturing to create a resilient supply chain free from foreign interference.
The Pentagon presented SecureFoundry with a strategic opportunity to acquire Dutch company, Mapper’s, maskless multi-electron-beam (e-beam) direct write (MEBDW) lithography system.
Through collaboration with the Dutch government, The Hague, and the U.S., SecureFoundry secured and domesticated MEBDW technology in the U.S.
Northrop Grumman opened its advanced technology fab to support the installation and development of the system. SecureFoundry launched an intensive development campaign, partnering with leading R&D firms and building a skilled U.S. workforce.
SecureFoundry formally launched its Hyper-Beam Array (HBA) lithography platform, advancing and improving on the original MEBDW technology.
Today, SecureFoundry fills a critical gap in the U.S. semiconductor ecosystem, ensuring domestic production of advanced chips, supporting commercialization and addressing obsolescent chip needs for legacy defense systems. Its efforts strengthen national security, countering China’s technological rise amid U.S.-China tensions. Aligned with initiatives like the CHIPS Act, SecureFoundry reduces reliance on foreign foundries and high-volume fabs, standing as a cornerstone of U.S. defense and emerging technologies, delivering specialized chips that maintain America’s technological edge in a volatile geopolitical landscape.
